I never take the time to use Tumblr as an outlet for my life’s daily happenings. Usually I just come here to reblog funny photos, “like” anything Ryan Gosling, and post an Instagram or two.
Putting my happy thoughts and accomplishments into written form just seems necessary as of late. Since I don’t keep a traditional journal, this will have to do for my means of documentation right now.
# 1: ANYONE who knows me, knows I’m an avid hockey fan. Not just a hockey fan — a Kings fan — and ANYONE who has ears, eyes, and a brain has heard that they are one of two teams in the Stanley Cup Final this year. I’ve been fortunate enough to work for this team the past 4 seasons and seeing them grow and thrive together has been a magical experience. Now, if you know me really well, you know that one of my biggest superstitions is to eat a meatball sub before every game. I’ve been holding true to that and BOY am I sick of the subs. Must win soon. No more subs. Blegh. Give me that Stanley Cup!
# 2: While enjoying my reign with the Kings, I’ve been presented with some pretty incredible opportunities, one of which has been blogging for Fox Sports West. NEVER ever did I imagine I’d see my name listed as a writer on ANYTHING under the Fox Sports brand. Sharing my experiences, making video blogs, and writing to a hockey loving audience has been beyond fun. So much FUN in fact, it leads me to….
NUMBER 3: I WENT BACK TO SCHOOL! And I’m kicking butt at it. All of this writing I’ve been doing for Fox Sports sparked a journalistic bug inside me leading to my enrollment into the Broadcast Journalism program at Pierce College. I had my last class today and pending on whatever grade I get on my final, I should come out with an A. This is coming from a straight D high school student who had better things to do than homework. I suppose everyone matures scholastically at different ages and I’m not sad that it happened to me so late in life. I wasn’t ready to devote my time to school earlier (clearly) and now I feel my brain is finally ready to benefit. Fresh out of high school I had NO idea what I wanted to major in. Any money spent would’ve been money wasted on an education then. Now, I have a clear path ahead of me. WOO.
#4: So with one huge door opened for me by the Kings, another swung out in front of my eyes with a red carpet rolled out to boot! Just by doing my regular Kings duties one game, I was literally spotted and tracked down by a manager at Octagon Entertainment. Within weeks I signed with them and they have been working their butts off to make sure I get my dream job. They are a huuuuge management company representing some of the top entertainment and hosting talent in Los Angeles and I’ve partnered up with them to hone my talents as a budding sports broadcaster! I’ve never felt so privileged in my life. It’s rare to find someone in Hollywood who accepts you for you…any agent I’ve ever sought representation from has had a thing or two to say about what I needed to change about myself. It feels great to have finally met someone who believes in me just the way I am. If all the stars align for me in the next couple of weeks, I should have some good news to report ;)
#5: On top of school, the Kings, working with a manager, and writing for Fox Sports….I’m a comedic improvisor in training at the Groundlings theater in Hollywood. Shocker, right? Maybe. Getting to be funny in front of other people who are also funny just turns every class into a laugh festival. My side-dream is to be on SNL and I will get there!! …in one way or another. I could write for days about the Groundlings but, continuing on…
#6: Here’s where I get sappy. I’m so incredibly thankful to have such a wonderful boyfriend! I’ve been dating Colin for the past year and couple of months and every single day of it has been pure bliss. He’s in Europe right now with his band and probably wont even be able to read this but anyway…he’s my best friend. He was my best friend for a couple of years before we even dated. He’s just….ahh…literally…the best person I’ve ever encountered on this planet. He’s so kind, respectable, hilarious, sweet, blah blah blah. Sigh. Absolute bliss, I tell you. If I could just laugh and hang out with him every day, then I’d be the happiest girl in the universe. Love him madly.
#7: Lastly, I’m moving. Not far, but far enough from the neighborhood I’ve called home for the past three years. I’m excited to be able to live with Colin, his brother, and his brother’s girlfriend but I will miss my house dearly.
So that’s it. I can’t believe I just typed that much. Life is good. Really damn good. Just had to sit down for a moment and put it into writing so I don’t forget the happy times. <3

I was playing for a men’s league at Toyota Sports Center. I might start up again this Summer.
